Ken Powers, owner and founder of CCHR, fell in love with classic cars when his father, Art Powers, purchased a 1938 Buick Special for $500.00 when Ken was 7 years old. Ken remembers going on drives and car shows with his Dad and pretending he was a gangster with his toy machine gun. When Ken was 17, his father purchased him his first car, It was a 1965 white 289 Mustang Coup with blue interior. Ken had already began an auto body course at a local Tech School which got him a job with his cousin Anthony during the summers leading up to his graduation from high school. Anthony owned a custom Corvette restoration shop called Anthony’s Autobody in Mount Vernon N.Y. There Ken got the opportunity to learn the importance of doing the job right and doing it once. This was imperative as Anthony always said “My clients are as picky as I am so it better be perfect!” Ken thanks Anthony for what he would call his quality code of honor. His constant persistence for excellence was instilled in him throughout the years while he worked there. Ken has stood by this code and also demands from his employee’s a very high standard of quality workmanship. Ken has owned over 80 classic cars since he was 17, all of various years and manufactures. He is not bias to any particular brand, he loves them all, big and small! Classic Cars has always been a passion for Ken. He loves working on them, showing them off, cruising in them and collecting them. Ken is proud to offer the best built custom classics in the lower mainland.
